Grading Information

If you do not wish to grade, you are still welcome to attend but you must observe grading etiquette at all times. The Fee is £12 per student and there is no additional fee for belts or tags. Unlike many martial arts the grading fee remains the same all the way up until Brown Belt and only changes for the Black Belt grading which will last for a few hours if conducted properly.

 

Certificates and belts will be given out at the following weeks session which, for our juniors, is usually a games session as a reward for hard work in preparation and during the gradings.

 

 

A printable copy of the SJA syllabus can be found below and a copy is also in the SJA membership record book which you receive upon becoming a member. To aid grading preparation further, if you click on the coloured belts then there are pictures, illustrations or a short video for each of the techniques on the syllabus. Please remember to bring your SJA License record book. Those without a valid License will be refused entry to grade. Information on the SJA license can be found on the SJA Information page or click: License.
