The Shodan Way

Shodan Judo adopts a modern approach to the ancient art of Judo that removes the harsh, strict discipline of traditional Judo Clubs yet still maintains and instills the necessity for respect, good behaviour and manners.

Shodan uses games and music to create an exciting and enthusiastic atmosphere that motivates students and creates a real enthusiasm for Judo. Our use of games teaches good basic Judo skills and attracts members as young as four years old.

Approach & Philosophy

Our experienced instructors have the tools and understanding of Judo and coaching to develop the knowledge and ability of members from a four year old novice, to those who train with elite Judo athletes.

Shodan Judo clubs are friendly and we always welcome new members of all ages and fitness levels including those with extensive or absolutely no previous experience of Judo or martial arts. Whether you wish to train for fitness, fun or competition - Train at Shodan Judo Clubs.

Benefits Of Judo

Judo is a global and Olympic sport. Benefits are an improved self-confidence, co-ordination, self-defence, respect for others and fitness.

Judo can also play a major part in combating the TV and Playstation culture and rising obesity, as a founding principle of Judo is exercise and physical development.

Quotes

"Doing judo is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love teaching and entering competitions I have broken a few bones doing it but it has never changed my opinion, I recommend it to everyone (judo not breaking bones) "

Student Calne

"In fighting and in everyday life you should be determined though calm. Meet the situation without tenseness yet not recklessly, your spirit settled yet unbiased. An elevated spirit is weak and a low spirit is weak. Do not let the enemy see your spirit."
