Referee Signals

So here they are; the basic refereeing signals used in Judo superbly modelled by Adam in the white gi and Dan in the Blue gi.

We hope to put more signals on as we go but here are the basics to get you started

  • Referee Signals: Koka - 3 Points
    Hand held up palm facing forward
  • Referee Signals: Yuko - 5 Points
    Palm down arm at forty five degrees from legs
  • Referee Signals: Waza-Ari - 7 Points
    Palm down arm at 90 degrees to body
  • Referee Signals: Ippon - 10 Points
    Palm forward arm held straight up
  • Referee Signals: Winner
  • Referee Signals: Draw
  • Referee Signals:Osaekomi - Hold is on
  • Referee Signals: Toketa (Arm waves horizontally) - Hold broken
  • Referee Signals:Tie Belt
  • Referee Signals: Passivity
  • Referee Signals:Sono Mama - Freeze
  • Referee Signals: Yoshi - Continue
